Diets

Why is it so hard to stick to a diet? I caved after 3 hours I started Dr. Hyman's Ultra Detox. Skinny Bitch almost made me become a vegetarian, (forget even thinking about going Vegan--too difficult). I just can't seem to give up anything. The one thing I am proud of is that I've given up red meat and alcohol. But that's only because I'm allergic to it.

My friend asked me if I wanted to start her summer diet/workout regime (whole grains, veggies, lean meats, and tons of cardio and other gym classes). Already I don't think I can do it. My reply to her was, "Ok, but I need an incentive. And I need to start next week because I have a brunch date with my girlfriends on Sunday). There's ALWAYS an excuse.

How do I just buckle down and do this? I did feel really proud when waiting in line for starbucks debating if I should get a. A caramel frap or b. a tea and an almond toffee cookie, and ended up just getting a tea lemonade. (hey it's a start).

Maybe competition is the key. Now that my friends and I are doing it for our vacation on memorial day, I am determined to not be the only one wearing a beach dress while everyone is in their bikinis.

1. Give up my daily caramel macchiatos.
2. Gym at least 4 times a week
3. Give up all candy
4. Eat til I'm satisfied, don't stuff myself

I have to take it one day at at time. So these are my goals for this next coming week. Wish me luck and lots of will power.

French lovers

I know I said no more Oscar Post.. but because I've been looking for a picture of this couple all last night and this morning, I have to give them their own post... I love these two. May they never break up and have beautiful french acting babies.

At the Academy Awards

Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet Walking in together

At the Governor's Ball

At the Vanity Fair Party

Oscar fashion police

I know... another Oscar post. I just didn't want to make it into one HUGE post.

During the Academy Awards last night, I was live blogging with my friend in NY. She dvr-ed it and started watching it later. I forgot what part of the show it was, but as the camera panned through the audience, I told her to look out for some hideous looking yellow dress. Well since I missed the red carpet show because I was driving to the boyfriend's house, I did not realize it was Sophia Loren until the "Best Actress" award. My Gawd she looked so horrible.

Funny Joke...

just like these dresses.

These were very unflattering...Jessica Biel and Amanda Seyfried

Beyonce usually looks good, but not a great choice this time. And it's sad to say that the disappointment in Miley's dress was expected. She doesn't really make good choices at these red carpet events.

We can end my last Academy Award post with the uglies, so for my enjoyment, Penelope and Marion. (the two bonded while working on the musical "NINE")

P.S. If you guys find a picture of Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet together at the Oscars last night, please send my way. =)

Post Oscar Post

Congratulations to Slumdog Millionaire for taking home 8 awards. Is this not the cutest picture. I am also really happy that Kate took home best actress. All the winners are most deserving!

Slumdog Millionaire's E! interview with Ryan Seacrest was the best. The little kids are so adorable. And of course I love Dev and Frieda together.

In case you missed it, or want to rewatch it:
Opening performance:

"Musicals Are Back"

Best Original Song Performance (and my favorite of the night)

I loved how they presented the Best Supporting Actress/Actor and Best Actress/Actor award.

Couldn't find the Best Actress stage picture, but I love how the previous winners presented each nominee.

Let's paint the town...

I just watched Confessions of a Shopaholic. It's a cute movie. She was fabulous in it of course. The movie made my own shopping problems seem miniscule.

It's past my grandma bedtime. But I will leave you with this fabulous RED post.

Can't wait til Sunshine Cleaning comes out.

Just started watching Mad Men. <3 it.

Because I love both of them.

So glad the day has ended

After what I label as one of the worst days (work was horrible, boss was annoying, traffic was bad), I was look forward to being cheered up by the bf, (since he was being so supportive during the day).

Nothing is worse than topping a day like that with a boyfriend who says all the wrong things.

Mine always knows the best way to kick me when I'm down.

Life sucks today.

wishing...

I watched Coraline this weekend and was inspired to put an outfit together.

Dakota Fanning said that an entire day of shooting would come out to be only three seconds of the film.

love the rain

Everyday this week, time decided to stand still starting 2pm, but Friday is now here. The only good thing about today was that I finally exchanged my virus filled work computer for a brand new one. Now I can facebook and keep updated on the happenings of everyone's lives.

I'm looking forward to a cozy weekend indoors as the rain pours.

In honor of the rain, here are some of my favorite movies with "the rain" scene.

The Notebook

Jeux d'enfants (Love Me If You Dare)

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Yay! The Sex and the City 2 movie is confirmed!

I just came back from a lunch at The Stinking Rose in Beverly Hills. It was meh. But don't order the Halibut, but do order the Lasagna.

new title banner

I hope you like it. Of course if my photoshop skills weren't so limited, I could've probably done a better job. And now I have to go to bed because I've stayed up way past my bed time working on it. I know, I know... what twenty something year old girl goes to bed before midnight... With an early meeting and an hour morning commute, and being the sleepy driver I am, I must bid you bon nuit.

today feels like thursday

I hate it when that happens? I think there's only one more day until the weekend, but really I have half a week left.

This bipolar weather is not doing me any good. We will be experiencing three seasons in one week. Summer (this past weekend and Monday), Spring (yesterday and today), Winter rain starting tomorrow. That's California for you. My allergies and I love it.

Sometimes I wish California can do this...

But I guess it wouldn't be California if it did.

It's finally February and I can't wait to watch:

I usually love the red carpet at preimeres, but there are so many things wrong with this picture.

this day just got a little bit sadder

Mondays aren't usually terrible. It's the least busiest dy at work, and unless I've partied the entire weekend before, Mondays are the days when I'm full of energy. Today was just a normal day, that is until I received some sad news over BBM. I just found out that my crush has a girlfriend. It's the "word on the street" that he has a gf in the UK, but there is no official confirmation. So I think I will take E's advise and wait until it's for sure.

I thought doing some online shopping would help, but it only made me more sad because there are so many things I want but I need to save money for a new apartment.

Tagged for the first time

Step 1: respond and rework—answer the questions on your own blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own.

Step 2: tag—eight other un-tagged people.

Super Bowl Sunday

With the boyfriend in Vegas, I had no obligation to hang around the TV with the game on and a bunch of loud drunken boys. I had a nice relaxing weekend with the fam.

Saturday, my cousins and I went to watch Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre. This was my second time seeing this, and I definitely enjoyed it more the first time at the Venetian in Vegas. I just could not understand anything. I was trying really hard to hear, but high pitch voices over voices made it quite difficult.

Other than spending time with my family, I spent a decent amount of time reading blogs and shopping online.

I am ready for all the Spring lookbooks. Time to update the closet.
